Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between hippotherapy and therapeutic riding?
Hippotherapy is a medical treatment conducted by a licensed therapist (PT/OT) using the horse's movement to achieve clinical goals. Therapeutic riding focuses on learning horsemanship and riding skills adapted for individuals with special needs, taught by a certified instructor.
What should my child wear to a session?
Safety first! All participants must wear long pants (jeans or leggings) and sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots. We provide safety helmets, though you are welcome to bring your own ASTM-SEI certified equestrian helmet.
How do we get started with sessions?
The process begins with an initial evaluation to determine the best program for your child's needs. Please fill out our enquiry form above, and our clinical team will reach out with the necessary medical release forms and scheduling availability.
Are sessions covered by insurance?
We are currently not accepting insurance.
